Hostas are widely cultivated as shade-tolerant foliage plants. The genus is currently placed in the family Asparagaceae, subfamily Agavoideae,[2] and is native to northeast Asia. Like many "lilioid monocots", the genus was once classified in the Liliaceae. The name Hosta is in honor of the Austrian botanist Nicholas Thomas Host.
My art comes from within,and the process of creating allows me to express myself in countless ways. I receive inspiration from the world around me, as well, since there is no artist as perfect as Mother Nature's beauty! I refer to myself as a late bloomer, in a good way! I 'm also happy to share that I 'm completely self-taught, no professional training whatsoever. I prefer acrylics, even though, lately, I've gotten into using oils and love the way the colors blend so easily on the canvas. My commissioned paintings decorate the walls of many homes all across Canada, for which I am grateful.
